January 16 - 20 Assignments listed here represent the "Plan" for the week. Plans of course are subject to change as needed, so this should not be considered the last word on what will take place in class or will be assigned for homework. When plans do change however, the changes will be reflected here (hopefully by the evening of the day in which they are known to exist).

assistance or need to discuss their projects
may contact me before 7:30
Tuesday - Friday in the morning before school. If I know students are
coming in for help, I will look for them by the walker's entrance to
the upper school.
Extra Help is available this week. Students may use this pass to get help with assigned work or to
get help on their Poetry Analysis Mini-Project. Students without passes may not be permitted to enter the building before school. |

Homework: Students
should complete 30 minutes of
independent reading which
they document every night this week. They should complete all
parts of the Poetry Analysis Mini-Project by Friday and prepare for the
Poetic Devices Quiz on Friday.

Tuesday

Students will begin class by
copying the parts of their Poetry Analysis Mini-Project they
completed last week to the project assignment in google classroom.
This process will be modeled so there isn't confusion about what
should be transfered from last week's interactive notebook.

Students will then use the assessment
rubric to complete a self assessment of the current state of their
project and reflect upon their current progress.

Students will complete edits and
revisions they need to make based on their self assessment and then
begin taking screenshots of the parts of their project to assemble
their virtual poster.

WIN Time - Students will move to
their book clubs for their first day in their book club classroom.

should complete 30 minutes of
independent reading which
they document every night this week. They should complete all
parts of the Poetry Analysis Mini-Project by Friday and prepare for
the Poetic Devices Quiz on Friday.

Wednesday

Students will begin class with
explanation for how the peer evaluation process will work, before
copying their project to the Peer Evaluation assignment and sharing
it with a teammate for evaluation.

Students will use the evaluation
rubric to give each other constructive feedback on their projects,
and to discuss their observations and recommendations.

Students will then use remaining time
to begin revisions on their projects.

WIN Time - Students will stay in
their language arts class and complete their i-Ready assignments for
the week. Students who finish their 2 i-Ready assignments may
use the remaining time for independent reading.

for the Poetic Devices Quiz on Friday.

Students will begin class with a
mini-lesson on Allusion as some students came across this device in
use in their chosen song lyric.

Students will have remaining time to
continue any needed revisions they still need to make in their
Poetry Analysis Mini-Project.

their book clubs.

should complete 30 minutes of
independent reading which
they document every night this week. They should complete all

Students will begin class taking the
Poetry Devices Quiz. They are permitted to use their Poetry
Devices Foldable.

Students will then complete the Week
in Review.

Studenst will end class making any
final revisions to their Poetry Analysis Mini-Project and turning it
in.

WIN Time - Students will report to
their book clubs.
Homework: Students
should complete 30 minutes of
independent reading which
they document every night this week. They should also complete the
step of the poetry project we worked on today if they did not complete
that during class.
